Die Crew besteht, neben Prof. Minke und dem Baustellenkoordinator und Lehmbaumeister Piet Karlstedt, aus internationalen Workshopteilnehmern. Der Workshop ist in 4 Gruppen eingeteilt, die jeweils von einem Teamleiter koordiniert werden. So soll gewährleistet werden, dass jeder Teilnehmende jede anfallende Arbeit wenigstens einmal ausführt. Da ist der Teamleiter Max (Deutschland, 46 Jahre alt) ein ruhiger und erfahrener Strohballen- und Lehmbauer. Die anderen Teamleitenden sind Isabelle (Belgien, 30 Jahre alt), Catarina (Portugal, 32 Jahre alt) und Ana (Portugal, 29 Jahre). Sie koordinieren die jeweiligen Workshopteams und achten auf Qualität. Isabelle ist eine junge Frau, die während ihres Architekturstudiums erkannte, dass sie mit ökologischen Baustoffen bauen wollte und nun keine Gelegenheit auslässt durch die Lande zu ziehen, um durch „Learning by doing“ dies umzusetzen. Sie sagte: „Dieses Bauen und diese Lebensweise macht mich freier. Ich brauche nicht viel Besitz, aber ich bin neugierig“ Diese Neugier scheint auch andere Workshopteilnehmer anzutreiben. So kamen beispielsweise Hiroshi aus Japan, Marcin aus Polen (derzeit Professor an der Universität von Lincoln, England) und Liu Chong aus China ( Professor an einer Technischen Universität) und Marc aus Spanien (Architekt aus Barcelona). Dabei scheint das Alter keine Rolle zu spielen: von Prof. Minke mit 74 Jahren über Max mit 46 Jahren bis zu den Jüngsten mit 20 und 24 Jahren.
